He reports that he has always been heavy, even as a small child, but he has gained about 100 pounds in the last 2–3 years. Previous medical evaluations have not indicated any metabolic diseases, but he says he has sleep apnea and high blood pressure, which he tries to control with sodium restriction. He current works at a catalog telephone center.

1 Describe the clinical manifestations present in Mr. C.
The potential signs and symptoms that Mr. C exhibits for his obesity are terminal. His current symptoms are that although he makes attempts to control them by restricting his dietary sodium, he has sleep apnea and high blood pressure (Lewis, 2018). Moreover, Mr. C experiences an increasing shortness in breath activity, something that is common with obesity patients and swollen ankles. The history of his past symptoms are that he has gained 100 pounds in the last 2 to 3 years and has developed pruritus over the last six months.
2 Describe the potential health risks for obesity that are of concern for Mr. C.
Based on the information provided in the report above, it is evident that Mr. C has a potential risk of cardiovascular disorders such as coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, stroke and diabetes among others (American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, 2019). Besides, the mentioned risks are in addition to his hypertension as well as mild exhibition of risk chances of cancer, diseases of the gall bladder, gallstones and osteoarthritis gout among others.
3 Is bariatric surgery an appropriate intervention? Why or why not?
Absolutely yes. This is because bariatric surgery is a far much effective course of action for an individual who has signs of weight loss and options that cannot be operated. For instance, in this context, a quantitative cohort study showed that the issue of weight loss was still apparent 12 years after surgery, although the same patients have been receiving conventional treatment aimed at helping them gain body weight (American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, 2019). The analysis also showed that surgery resulted in non-surgical options such as type-2 diabetes due to a reduced metabolic syndrome.
4 Assess each of Mr. C.'s functional health patterns using the information given. Health perception-Health management pattern.
This pattern focuses on the level of health and wellness of an individual that has been perceived and maintained (Sparling, Tenderich & Warshaw, 2015). The perceived health of Mr. C is that although he maintains his health using his drugs such as magnesium hydroxide 15ml time before going to sleep, he has a lacking in therapy and family association.
Nutritional Metabolic Pattern.
This pattern is present in the patient due to the lack of certain food and fluid consumption requirements in the body such as whole grains, vegetables, whole fruits, seeds like nuts and plant oils (Sparling, Tenderich & Warshaw, 2015).
