For this assignment you will be doing an analysis of a case from your professional experience (Registered Nurse) that involved change, conflict, OR collaboration. Your analysis should focus on one of these concepts even if the case included more than one of these concepts. Provide a description of the case that you will be analyzing and the goals or the outcomes that were desired. The goals or outcomes identified should be those that the work situation was trying to achieve (e.g. new workflow). Identify which of the concepts (change, conflict or collaboration) you will be addressing. Be sure to include enough details to support your analysis. Identify the concepts, principles, and strategies from the literature related to the focus of your case example (change, conflict or collaboration) that you will use as a framework to analyze the case. Analyze the case and describe where the case demonstrates effective and ineffective change, conflict, or collaboration. Provide recommendations for how different or additional approaches would have enhanced the change, conflict or collaboration management and supported achievement of the desired goal or outcome.

The Healthcare sector is a multifaceted field yet crucial for individuals’ health sustainability. It involves a myriad of processes, and each profession in this sector is dedicated to specific duties. The Registered Nurse (RN) professional lends itself to this discussion as a viable topic. In essence, an RN acts as a direct caretaker for patients in the hospital with duties, including daily management of patients, conducting patients’ assessments, and scheduled operations and schedules. In addition, RNs work collaboratively with fellow healthcare professions and physicians to ensure patient’s needs, updates, and care plans are understood. The healthcare world evolves daily as new diseases keep cropping up while new technology innovations keep being developed. These changes, in the long run, demand the nursing profession to be highly adaptive. The RNs, in recent times, have been contemplating how to manage patients’ health needs effectively. This craving has prompted innovative ideas about leveraging technology to lead changes in how RNs actualize their duties. In this light, this paper focuses on exploring change in the healthcare sector by detailing a case study of change in the RN profession. The report reveals that most RNs embrace the change, but to some extent, it faces hiccups, especially from RNs who face difficulty in utilizing the proposed changes.
Description of the Case – Innovations in Quality Improvement
Technology plays a central role in achieving RNs’ duties and activities. At its basic level, technology is an ingredient for efficiency and quality treatment. Therefore, technology incorporation in healthcare matters cannot be overlooked. The XYZ hospital was experiencing hiccups in terms of ensuring patients are attended to on time and efficiently. This practice necessitated the hospital’s top management to seek an alternative approach in providing RNs’ workload is minimized while at the same time patients’ health needs were completed on time and swiftly. In particular, the quality management processes were proposed. This innovation was concerned with ensuring swift management of patients’ needs, such as dealing with Medicaid-related services. This change required RNs to be tech-savvy to navigate seamlessly in the course of delivering their specific duties. For example, an RN was needed to be fast in typing and, most importantly, be keen on entering the information in the system. Imperatively, since the system contained patient’s confidential data, it was a prerequisite for RNs to hold a high moral code of ethics. At least they were banned from leaking the information without patients’ consent. The training was conducted, and at least most of the RNs in XYZ hospital were equipped with the right knowledge about dealing with the new system to ensure quality healthcare is provided to patients.
