1 Campus efforts to help this population?
Campuses need to invest in LGBTQ student leadership. These students are not going to be well known in Campus life. Failure to have proper student leadership hence they will be discriminated even more. The college needs to come up with strategies to make more interactions between this special population and the rest more intense- this will create a sense of belonging to these students.
The campus need to take a team approach. Every part in the university performs a role that creates conducive environment to the LGBTQ students (Nguyen 2019). Professors, coaches among others those are willing and able to support the LGBTQ population. The university may also take part in recruiting for the future in which the campus administration is inclusive of all the student needs especially the LGBTQ. This will establish a better relationship between these students and the administration. Colleges and universities need to track retention of their LGBTQ students to provide the services for safety reasons. Asking of questions such sex orientation of the students and their gender identity should be done by the administration and forming clubs and societies.
Are this support services adequate or need improvement?
The support services have been inadequate hence improvement is needed. The state based groups’ needs to be re organized and restructured to make sure every student is taken care of. A wide coverage can only be made possible by making these state owned organizations to be private enterprises.
The centers dedicated to the LGBTQ need to be equipped with all the necessary and especially the missing materials. These include reading materials that will provide support and care to this group of people as a way of encouragement. The util...
