Select a special population of college students ( LGBTQ,) at your campus. Be prepared to discuss the types of student services and resources that are available at your campus for these students.
Locate a peer reviewed journal article on the special population you have identified, then write a 2 page paper that includes the following components:
1. Summarize the main points, or findings, of the article.
2. Answer the following questions:
a. What are the major concerns of this student population?
b. What has been done to assist this student population?
c. Which student services are they likely to access and need to be successful in college?

Your work should be written with the following points in mind.
• This paper should be at least 2 pages, not counting the title page and reference page.
• A clear introduction that orients a reader to the essay main content, and the main points discussed should be provided.
• A well-developed, well-balanced essay body that develops each point in its own paragraph should be included.
• A concise conclusion that summarizes the whole essay should also be included.
• Include at least three references. Quoted material should not exceed 10% of the total paper (since the focus of these assignments is critical thinking). Use your own words and build on the ideas of others. When material is copied verbatim from external sources, it must be enclosed in quotes.

Research on tracing LGBTQ Community College Students’ Experiences by Eboni M. Zamani-Gallaher, DevikaDibyaChoudhurihas it that the LGBTQ peers that are students have faced a discrimination that is in a higher level than their straight peers. The numbers are usually high during the middle and high school years. The focus of this paper will focus on discrimination of college students, the major concerns of this discrimination, and the efforts done to help these students. In summary of findings the article emphases on the following: The students are facing discrimination especially from their straight peers. The resources and services have not been able to meet the challenges.
1 What are the major concerns of this student population?
One of the concerns is the failure of acceptance of these students especially by their high school peers. They face increased social and cultural hostility from their which is made evident through being bullying. These students try to hide it by fighting to be perfect in other ways such as class work and being clown for class but eventually face isolation. On the worse extend, these students are reported to commit students. (Nguyen 2017) There are the strong characters that may overcome some of these challenges but suffer from withdrawal effects. Another concern is the experience of discrimination the students go through. This is because their straight peers take the differences in sexual orientation as a reason to isolate them. About 15% of LGBTQ teens that go through such form of harassment usually find it good to quit the college.
