Mack Zuckerberg has a classical stereotype on age as he believes that young people tend to be smarter than the old. He believes that younger individuals are more creative, ambitious, productive, and efficient. Since age is a visible characteristic, it becomes easier for people to make assumptions about other individuals (Friend, 2017). Age stereotyping makes people believe that old age individuals have negative persuasive energy to society. On the other hand, it makes people believe that young individuals always have a positive, persuasive power to the community (Friend, 2017). Old adults tend to use age stereotyping more as compared to young individuals. To overcome age stereotyping Mack Zuckerberg should interact with the older people so as he can be able to realize their potentials (Chen, Pethtel & Ma, 2010). Mack Zuckerberg recognizes the use of impression management elements since he believes that they contribute to building people’s personalities.
Mack Zuckerberg possesses various personality traits, which include; emotional stability and openness to experience. Mack Zuckerberg is referred to as an emotionally stable man because when he was called by the Winklevoss twin to assist him in developing his website, he turned up but never revealed his ambitions; instead, he operated in silence (Matvichuk, 2015). Moreover, he is always ambitious to learn new things from the world. To achieve this, he connects with more innovation founders such as Henry Ford to learn new ideas in other fields. Some personality traits are associated with Facebook. They include extraversion and openness. The use of the Facebook platform leads to extraversion. It brings people together through chatting, thus enhancing their enjoyment (Petrocchi, Asnaani, Martinez, Nadkarni & Hofmann, 2014). They also gain confidence while they turn up to be the center of attraction among the individuals they are talking to.
Secondly, through the use of the Facebook platform, people tend to become more open to other individuals. They freely give out their ideas, and in turn, they get views on them.
