1. Is it likely that Jon Menzes will be successful in the short-term with this strategy?
2. What are the long-run implications of this strategy for Jon Menzes and for ProFood?

Unit I – Case Study Your Name Subject and Section Professor’s Name February 27, 2019 1 Is it likely that John Menzes will be successful in the short-term with this strategy? 1 Considering the details of the case as outlined in the story, it seems that Menzes’ strategy is not likely to become successful. Even if his products are great and the price is more affordable than others, he is still selling these to the wrong market segment. For one, he is trying to sell these products to the Sleep Tight Inn’s managers who do not have any authority to make purchasing decisions unless approved by their headquarters. This means that his short-term strategy would not yield the results that he is trying to achieve even if he goes to all 16 of the motels. However, what he can do is to try to persuade the headquarters directly, since it is the one making the purchasing and supplier decisions for the motels. This second strategy is more likely to succeed as it focuses on market knowledge, strategic alignment, and coordination. 2 What are the long-run implications of this strategy for Jon Menzes and Pro-foods? 2 By pursuing his current strategy, Menzes would be wasting a lot of resources that could have been used in pursuing other endeavors. This could prove to be detrimental for the company if he still fails to convince SleepTight Inn after using up a lot of these valuable resources. However, if he focused on trying to persuade the headquarters directly, ProFoods would benefit greatly since this would add up to their revenue streams.
