1. Was Rachael Ray a case of accidental entrepreneur or local star gone national?
Rachel Ray’s case is indeed one of accidental entrepreneur. Even though she rose from local cooking classes to a national millionaire, she had something different and unique to offer the world. Although she had a very humble beginning in the venture, she did not give up her dream and goal of becoming one of the most prominent investors in the country. Her start defines the local nature of her investment, immediately after dropping out of college. Ray would earn approximately $550 (Groysberg & Herman). This amount was not even enough for her rent, not to mention profits. Hence, the cooking classes business might not have yielded any benefits during the start. However, the investment grew into an empire with excellent distinctions such as cooking shows on media channels like television and radio.
