Analysis of Los Angeles Car Wash Business
So many workers who work for car wash businesses in Los Angeles are highly and the most exploited. They operate and work in appalling work conditions with little wages and other times no payments altogether. Frequently, the owners of carwashes tend to flout all the health and safety rules, the labor laws and the environmental security or rather protection in the pursuit of making only profits. Therefore, their practices end up risking the lives of the customers, workers and the general public.
Despite the fact that revenue for carwash business in Los Angeles is high, it does not translate to any decent living for the people who work for those companies. The stipulated minimum wage in California should be $8 per hour. However, many carwash owners simply pay their workers below the legal minimum wage rate (Dahlsrud, 2008). Additionally, these employers will deny their employees the fundamental rights of a workplace and the necessary protection needed by the law. It can be very laborious and tedious to work in a carwash in Los Angeles especially during summer when the temperatures are too high in this county (Dahlsrud, 2008). This is because the employees are forced to work without wearing any safety equipment. Besides, they are denied access to training that teaches them on how to deal with chemical exposure and hazards in the place of work. Also, they do not drink clean water, and no breaks are provided for taking meals or even rest. The carwash owners do not provide overtime pay and health insurance. This makes the workers lose the businesses’ respect and dignity.

However, it is not enough to just have the facts since they only provide what the moral issue is but not what it can turn out to be. To fully comprehend how an ethical issue should be resolved, there calls for a focus on the values as well and philosophers have successfully developed several approaches to deal with moral issues. They include:
* The Rights Approach
* The Unitarian Approach
* Common-good method
* The Justice or Fairness Approach
The Virtue Approach.
It is important to note that this particular approach does not always provide automatic solutions to the issues at stake. However, it is intended to assist people to highlight some of the most significant ethical considerations. It is the duty of everyone to deliberate on ethical issues and at the same not to forget to keep an eye on the facts as well as all the ethical considerations involved. This approach encourages people to perceive themselves as individuals who come from the same community. The organization should work on having a...
