The two developed countries chosen were Australia and Canada, while the developing countries were Ghana, Jamaica and Sri Lanka. The value of stocks depends on demand and supply where higher demand is associated with a rising value, while massive selloffs result in the value of stocks declining. Similarly, the value of stock indices depends on demand and supply. Event studies are statistical methods that help to assess the relationship between security prices or indices and economic events.
