The case indicates that there were growing increase in the production cost which was translated by inadequate packaging materials of glass, cardboard and aluminum among other resources. Mass production of beer from major competitors and the new entrants added more challenges. As a result, collaboration of the Boston Beer with the United Airline would be essential in that the Airline Company could substantiate funding on availability of the cans and the packaging bottles. While competitors would be engaged in the financial pushback to comply with the requirements of the consumers, it seems that Boston Beer Company would be extending its market strategies. This would include changing the shape of the container to something huge and appealing to the consumer. This would count a special feature to identity your brand from what is common in the market. Strategically setting depots with this kind of the brew will help Boston to control supply and distribution chain of their products since it will be people’s conception that the brew packed in a special and unique package might as well be having a unique effect after consuming it.
In bid to control the market situations, it makes sense for the Boston Beer Company merge with United Airline. This is because the company will be both domestic and international figure. Despite compromising on some of its packaging policies, there are several benefits to be leaped from this deal.
