Delta Airline is the world second largest airline providing air transportation for passengers and cargo. It is the founding partner of Sky team airline alliance. The top management of this company has been exploring new markets through partnerships and self reliance in boosting its market share. Despite competition from other airline industries in the world, Delta Airline is the widely known for its share volatility, strong price competition as well as the low brand loyalty. According to Corporate Information (2002), measurements to reduce costs and expenses from the flight industry have also been major focus in order to attract more customers in utilizing their services. In the past few decades, a series of mergers and key alliances have enabled Delta Airline have initiated measures to increase its market shares over the competitors. For instance, a merger Comair and North-west has created access to many routes, landing slots and gates while enabling Delta airline to lay-off excess personnel thus reducing operational costs. This service is similar to what is typically known as the first class flight. It comprises of check-in desks, larger and more comfortable seats, free food and beverages. Moreover, Delta airline is strengthening its marketing through affiliate marketing. This aspect enables the company to join forces with other businesses, hence reaping more benefits from potential sales and reaching many people.
