Capital State Arena Name: Professor: Date: According to Benton (2010), a theatrical lighting system can be defined as a combination of controllers, lights in addition to lighting adjustments as found within the gymnasium arena of Capital State University. This gymnasium is commonly used for basketball functions but preparations are underway for it to hold other university games besides commencement exercise. This thus justifies why the University gymnasium needs enhancing of its lighting system. For the project to commence, the purchasing department will have to be considered as it already has requests from two suppliers with probability of a third one. The suppliers have declared their interest in making renovations. The purchasing department has indicated the features to be included which are among others: user friendly lighting consoles and programmable lighting system with a room for expansion as extra lights might be considered. Further to this, the purchasing department needs a lighting system that can be upgraded with lots of ease, is equipped with warranty, maintenance and repairs options. There are also specifications on the technology to be used with an alternative of leasing the gymnasium (Benton, 2010 p.461). After critical evaluation of the three suppliers, the ETC Company qualifies as the best bidder. This is because; though costly its terms of service are the best in addition to ease of usage.
