Introduction
Brazil’s economic history is a great determinant of its ability to be a global IT hub. Technology has greatly improved in the present century. Organizations are slowly but steadily embracing the concept of outsourcing and offshoring to other firms. Brazil has joined the list of nations trying to exploit the sudden global rush towards offshoring, outsourcing and IT. Porter’s theory of national competitive advantage is a critical theory of trade and investment that will help in explaining Brazil’s intentions and actions in joining the international information technology sector.

Porter’s diamond theory hinges on four pillars; demand conditions, factor conditions, related and supporting industries, and firm strategy, structure and rivalry. There is high demand for IT in Brazil because a significant portion of the nation's large population is technologically savvy and hence very knowledgeable when it comes to matters technology(Heng et.al.,2015).This creates demand for goods and also the human resource, thereby giving the country a competitive edge.
When it comes to factor conditions, Brazil fares poorly due to the inadequacy and lack of enough development in its infrastructure. The country, as a result, suffers from regular blackouts and poor transport networks which make the establishment of ICT infrastructure, a nightmare. It main competitors, China, and India, also suffer from the same, albeit being better than Brazil. Additionally, a significant portion of the nation doesn't speak English, which is the second most spoken language on the planet, and a mandatory prerequisite for trade (NSF, n.d.).This is a serious disadvantage for the nation.
