Frederick Douglass is a renowned abolitionist who wrote a narrative that was an instant success. The narrative talked about his life as a slave to the time he escaped from slavery. Nonetheless, the story has a powerful political message. It paints an explicit picture of what it is to be a slave. Additionally, it depicts a clear picture of how America was before slavery was abolished.
Various quotes from his narrative clearly show that he is a unique person. For instance, the ‘I know that apologies of this sort are generally considered flat and unmeaning.
