The following is a book review about the relationship between extemporaneous speaking and critical thinking. The book reviewed is “Essentials of Public Speaking” by Cheryl H. 2009.
According to Cheryl H. 2009, Critical thinking is an intellectual disciplined process of applying skills, concepts, analyzing, synthesizing, evaluation, of information obtained by means of observation, experience, reasoning, reflection, as guidance towards taking an action. Critical thinking is an altitude developed by thinking towards solving problems that comes within the range of ones experience. Critical thinking goes beyond the casual thinking by the act of disciplined process of applying skills, concepts, analyzing, synthesizing and evaluation of information in readiness of taking appropriate action.
