Subjects on homosexuality and transgender are still sensitive to date. Many people view gay, lesbian, or transgender individuals as different. However, as David Valentine shows, there is no difference between heterosexuality and homosexuality or transgender. It is apparent from Valentine's book that transgender is his main topic of discussion. Still, the author incorporates histories of gays and lesbians to drive the intended message home.
In his book, Valentine manages to capture the transgender in a different light. He does not focus on telling the struggles of transgender individuals. Instead, he shows how transgender people can become a part of society. It is true that they can because he uses the history of homosexuality to show how this can be achieved.
