Recently, Google suspended businesses dealing with Huawei following a directive by President Trump that Huawei is working with the Chinese government to spy on other countries. Chinese government is notorious for spying and most western governments are concerned that the company tunnels the objectives of the peoples’ republic of China party to spy on foreign companies, governments and its people. The directive that saw Google suspend its dealings with China have been escalating in the recent past. Other companies have also severed their ties with Huawei over the potential to be used by the Chinese government to spy on them. Huawei founder and the management have denied these allegations and they insist that they are a private business in China and it does not allow the Chinese government to spy on its clients. Ren Zhengfei insists that the directives issued by various governments to suspend business with the company are politically motivated.
Some of the companies and governments which have not yet blacklisted Huawei have also taken precautionary measures to guard against possible espionage by the Chinese government using Huawei devices. In the UK where the company has been given a green light to will help build UK’ 5G data network, they are only supposed to supply devices and technology to support the "non-core" parts, such as antennas, but they have been blocked from producing "core" parts, which could allow access to sensitive information.
