In the scientific method to studying an issue the first thing is observation, before making hypothesis and predictions (Campbell, Reece & Simon, 2017). After this, it is asking questions and it was hypothesized that since young girls in sub-Saharan Africa tend to be in relationship with older men have higher HIV rates, paying them or cash transfers would reduce the HIV rates. Southern Africa including Malawi has the highest HIV rates in the world subsequently, it was predicted that cash transfer programs would likely reduce the HIV rates among the school girls and the results of the study supported the hypothesis.
