The ideas shared by the author tie closely with the themes that were discussed in class since they all approach an enduring topic of philosophy which is a mind-body challenge. I agree with the author that human beings evolved from simpler forms and they developed to complex beings. The author calls it soft creationism meaning the perception that the universe merged to build the human brain. The fact that his work has integrated scientific perspective and modern view of the nature and behaviour of mind makes it become more elaborate and reflective one. He has managed to use a humanistic view which makes his work conclusive and exemplary. What makes the chapter and ideas unique is the fact that it does not attempt to argue rather it ruminates.
