I am happy that the place where I study is not all about academic achievement, but also about providing support to its learners in whatever form. Hearing about what goes on in a child&#8217;s life has made me revisit my own childhood and wonder if there is any deep-seated trauma that is causing any of my behaviors today. Seeing family members also be supportive of the student&#8217;s counseling journey is inspiring. It makes me hopeful about what lies ahead for these learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a future guidance counselor, I want to make sure that every student feels safe when they walk into my office for a session. I want them to feel comfortable sharing their personal problems and asking for specific help. I want to encourage parental involvement as much as possible and applicable. I also want to build strong relationships with teachers who are involved in the student&#8217;s life. I believe in the power of collaboration and am convinced that it takes a village to raise a healthy learner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the educators are there primarily to focus on intellectual growth, my role will be to ensure that the learner is set up for success in life. I want to develop a community of healthy and thriving learners with good social skills and adequate self-awareness.
