The obstetric population is considered a healthy group of patients. Should a fall prevention program be implemented on an OB unit for every laboring and postpartum patient?

Fall Prevention in OB
Pregnancies are associated with changes in psychology, physiology and biomechanical which put the victims at high risks of falling. The risks can be categorized as extrinsic or intrinsic. Here I will discuss one example of the two. An intrinsic factor is gait and balance difficulties while an extrinsic factor is epidural.
Gait and balance difficulties put an obstetric patient at a higher risk of falling. Balance is what controls the walking, leaning, arising from a chair or such like stuff.
