The articles focus on globalization on the basic fronts of care, ethics, policies and moral approach towards global justice drawing reason from the account of injustices that results from the effects of current neo-liberalism as well as hegemonic masculinities. In these articles, there is an elaborate explanation of the different approaches to global justice which encompasses the realist approach, democracy, and lack of ethical standards and their implications to the well-being of the society. Summary
The article on “Morality, Policy, and Theory” discuss the conflict between realism and cynicism and the role of the realists in the development of society’s moral policies. The realists’ perspective in this article is utilized as a guide in the demonstration of the fact that morality and ethical policies are crucial in addressing social issues. Further, the theory is key in the process of generating a different set of solutions as well as reinventing the role of institutions in daily lives. However, the article gives guidance especially when it comes to policy implementation and level of success of every policy. The article gives various discussions and examples on morality in international politics. The case studies are given by the author to provide evidence on the realist's view of moral ethics as one of the most comprehensive critical theory since it assesses the level of quality of public policies.
Critique
The article fails to discuss the issues surrounding the relationship between theory and practice. The aspect of globalization has simply complicated the discourse of social and moral justice. The article is critical on the contribution of rationality towards both in national and international politics. However, the article also fails to present that theories require not irregularities in rationality (Jervis, 2017:39). Scholars agendas, especially on global justice, are presented from different perspectives; first, they are used to represent distributions in world population based on gender or class and secondly, the distribution among states or groups. This makes the aspect of morality to have some level of irregularities in definition especially in areas that demand justice for all. One of the key presentations in this article involves a demonstration of the underlying methods of realists that addresses various normative concerns as it creates the existing relationship between realism and cynicism theories. The article dwells on realist belief on the fact that states follow individual national interests (Jervis, 2017:40). The articles fail to give an elaboration on the central and potential contributions that realists make towards global ethics and morality giving theoretical accounts as examples.
