This assignment is an article critique of the article “Middle and later Pleistocene hominins in Africa and Southwest Asia which was authored by Rightmire, Phillip in 2009 at “Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. (PNAS) Journal.
Hominin also known as Hominid consists a family of Hominidae that is made up of all creatures whether dead or alive but related to the Homo sapiens as opposed to chimpanzees.
The study aims at establishing on the mid -Pleistocene and later Hominins systematics, the paleobiology of these hominins and their mode of spread/dispersal. It also aims at identifying different /distinct species and their characteristic based on the research evidence. This critique summary paper intends to explain questions on the evolutionary history of this hominins.The skulls from different time periods have structural changes that characterizes them and their morphology has differences due regions of origin.
The study based on the review of the archeological records that traces the stone artifacts and other activities of human nature dating back to 700,000 years ago, that were found in Africa and Eurasia, and Fossils as compared to the Pleistocene Neanderthals are not abundant. Documentaries trace some of the information in Africa and South West Asia, For instance in Bodo (Middle Awash of Ethiopia) several bones were found which included a cranium, a broken parietal and humerus.
The research shades more light on the Homo erectus and Homo sapiens as evidenced by the records on sites such as Florisbad in south Africa, Ngaloba Beds at Laetoli in Tanzania,Nazlet Khater in Egypt,Hof...
