The public and the government always come up with new ideas to improve health care, most of which focus on health care cost, quality and its accessibility. Sometimes, the public are not satisfied with their countries` health care system thereby arranging for the own health care. The three articles discussed look at the cost, quality and accessibility of health care in different ways. Steiner`s article- The health care system is looked at in three perspectives: cost of health services, quality assessment and medical accessibility. Steiner summarizes these three factors in a consistent way. In any health care system, not all the stated factors can be improved at the same time. One can only improve one or two factors at a time. For example, in the event that the costs of health care are reduced, there will be a reduction of accessibility or quality. Cost reductions will mean procurement of cheap medical products thereby reducing health quality. Costs of health care shoot up when quality of health is improved. In many cases, quality is always associated with higher prices of the product (Steiner, 2002). Health care access can be improved, but that will cost the government, the public and the health care providers a lot of money in the process or reduce the quality of health. In short the system quality can be improved, cost reduced and accessibility improved but not all the three can be done at the same time. Any change to one has an impact on the other because they are intertwined. The views in this article are quite categorical as it is clearly stated that whoever says that all this factors can be improved at the same time is either a liar or a politician soliciting votes.
