The forecast revealed that the recent military actions from the U.S., Russia, and Iran have been effective in depowering terrorists and in the future, it will be difficult for terrorist cells to recruit fresh candidates. However, the authors indicate that terrorists will be prompted to increase their attacks in Europe. This article will be beneficial in my paper as it provides evidence of the effectiveness of military interventions against terrorism. Berkebile, R. (2015). What is domestic terrorism? The author examined data from the Global Terrorism Database to come up with a better classification and understanding of domestic and international terrorism. The classification in the article revealed that domestic violence, an attack in which the location, victims, and perpetrators are all within the same nationality, is by far more threatening than international terrorism in the U.S. These results provide evidence for my final paper in determining the severity of domestic terrorism. This study investigated why the U.S. uses military and other strategies in addressing issues such as terrorism and human rights violation outside of the U.S. The authors used time-series analysis to examine data from 1981 to 2005 in 164 countries. The results of the study revealed that using military intervention has been instrumental not only in the reduction of terrorism but more in humanitarian efforts. These results can be useful in the current debate on military intervention in the fight against terrorism. This study will be imperative in my final paper because it sheds more light on whether military intervention is the key to terrorism reduction. Ezcurra, R. (2016). The article by Ezcurra (2015) analyzed the effect of government decentralization, political autonomy, and governmental power on terrorism reduction.
