The book discusses the various ideologies that shaped the destiny and the behavior of women in the two sides of the Atlantic Ocean during the nineteenth century. Such ideologies provided women with the opportunity to be part of the educational gain. Women were viewed as objects of childbearing, a wife and a family creator. Therefore, it was difficult for them to get time for being part of the educational programs. However, in the 19th century, a lot was changing, and women were being given a priority not only to become child bearers but also to study in the universities. The author of the article is an advocate for the women rights in society. Therefore, this study will be helpful in my paper by showing the manner in which women were being allowed to enroll in universities. This oversaw a change of life for the women in the 19th century in terms of their career and education. It was the beginning of the creation of the various educational opportunities that will be outlined in the paper. Women were being recognized in the institutions hence allowing them a chance to pursue their career goals (Dyhouse, 2016).
