Charness et al. (2011) further supported the need for telehealth development on the basis that older individuals’ lack of technological knowledge impacted its effectiveness. They suggested training development and follow-up on appropriate use of technology to combat this issue (Charness et al., 2011). Drum and Littleton (2014) looked at the impact that flexible practice could have on clinicians practicing outside of their jurisdiction and how this could implicate the clinician in ethical and legal difficulties. The research concluded that many states lack regulatory laws governing telehealth care. Psychologists are encouraged to review their state laws in relation to providing care across state lines, as well as to review their malpractice insurance to clarify whether telehealth is a part of their coverage. Gonzalez and Brossart (2015) study highlighted the benefits of group and single-case study research. Results indicated that videoconferencing psychotherapy positively impacted mental health symptoms. In the sample of 52 patients residing in rural areas who were diagnosed with two or more psychiatric conditions, a majority of the patients experienced improvement in symptoms (Gonzalez & Brossart, 2015). The authors found a highly significant relationship between risky...
