The Effect of Flow and Mobile Privatization on News Consumption
You will submit a research question and an annotated bibliography with a minimum of six (6) sources.
You will conduct research and develop a potential research question. While you are encouraged to use the same topic that you worked on for Writing Assignment #4 in CCT109 this past fall, you can choose a different topic from the Topic Options (from CCT109) listed in the assignment PDF:
Assignment #1 (PDF): Revised January 11 (12:50pm)
Keep in mind that you must pick one topic to work with for Assignments #1, #2 and #3.
If you use the same topic for CCT109, you are not allowed to reuse work you submitted for grading in CCT109. This is important. You are encouraged to use the same source material and build on the work you have done on this topic, but do not cut and paste, which constitutes a serious academic offense. Please discuss with your TA if this is unclear.
You will submit the following:
A draft of a research question
An annotated bibliography including material that you hope to use in your essay (and which inform your thesis statement). You should identify a minimum of six (6) peer-reviewed, scholarly sources.
The aim of this assignment is to prepare you for writing a research-based essay.

Scholars in the digital world have observed that digital technologies can disrupt existent structures of power, and facilitate the development of new mechanisms of governance. The group also established from the observation is that the same framework for power reinforcement in technologies for communication can strengthen the arrangements of power that exist within an organized network of individuals. The research involved a study of a mobile technology in large-scale application to determine whether the administrators or users benefit more in terms of the power relations the scholars had identified. Results indicated that the use of mobile technology has less impact on power reinforcement but offers general support in the reinforcement of the framework, based on its application in the public sector. The discussions in the study pertain to the concerns of the impact of flow and mobile privatization.
