In this article, the authors have presented an argument on the importance of digital space. According to this article, modern science has become digital. The internet has had a lot of benefits because it has supported the development of digital performs and programs that can be able to connect people globally. The authors assert that it is very important for individuals to understand the significance of digital technologies. This article has provided comprehensive research on the importance of digital technologies. According to Brunswicker, Matei, Zentner, Zentner & Klimeck (2017), scientists can develop digital platforms that can establish collaborative relationships outside the traditional realm. The authors have given an example of a well-known platform nanoHUB which has more than 300,000 users who have been registered. This is a platform that gives gamers a better way of creating interactive scientific applications via the API. In this article, there is a research question that has guided the authors throughout the research. This research question is; to what extent is a programmer’s scientific impact dependent upon the digital community-level work structure, the digital practice structure? This question is very important because it has assisted the authors to ascertain how scientific programmers have an impact on the digital community. Various concepts like digital practice structure have been introduced in the article. This article is important because it has offered insights into the impact of digital space on the online community. Additionally, the authors have also highlighted that more research is very important to understand the complete impact of digital space. However, this article is not conclusive enough to form a majority of one's understanding of online communities.
