The adverse world economies have necessitated people to migrate into the United States to seek for jobs and better living standards. These people, include, expatriate nurses who come into the United States to offer healthcare services in the US health system which is characterized by decreased number of professionals. Apart from helping the US resident's receive better and high quality health services, they also contribute to the US economy through taxation and other economic activities that contribute to the national budget CITATION Dem09 \l 1033 (Demetrios & Aaron, 2009). Also, such employees who come to work in the United States should be allowed to come with their families into the US. This is essential because they will not have to leave work to go and see their families in their native countries. It enhances easy family management issues and results to the employees undergoing lesser stress to manage their families. This factor is very essential as the employees will be able to concentrate and produce more unlike when they are under family management stresses. Therefore, it's necessary to allow such people to come into the US under special circumstances.
The grant of legal permanent status to the legal immigrants will help the immigrants concentrate more on nation building than when they are temporal residents. With the permanent status they are able to carry out their activities without limitations. For instance, business people will invest within the United States unlike when they are temporal, as they are likely to invest their finances back to their home countries. Also, permanent status will help avoid cases of crime as majority of the people who commit crime, most of them do not have legal documents. With the permanent status they will be provided with these documents and they can be traced whenever they commit crime CITATION Bor01 \l 1033 (Borjas, 2001).
One disadvantage of offering permanent status to legal immigrants is that it will result to increased population in the United States. With the increased population, the government will stretch on resources, a condition which may result to poor quality government services CITATION Cam08 \l 1033 (Camarota & Jensenius., 2008). This at the end can result to economic degradation, depreciation of natural resources and overall environmental pollution.
In conclusion, it's important to recognize the legal immigrants as great contributors to the US economy. Therefore, there is need to allow some of these people to live in the US but with very special conditions in order to provide a limitation. The l...
