Personal Statement Your preparation and motivation to pursue upper-division studies in business My interest in business studies dates back to the years before my teenage and throughout my high school life. While in high school, I developed a close student relationship with my accounting teacher, who consistently pointed at my strengths in accounting. The reason behind this is that I managed the business club funds. As a result, he encouraged me to consider pursuing a career in accounting. I have also been engaged in business related activities as I grew up, hence studying business is the most logical choice. Additionally, I am privileged to have a typically entrepreneurial father, whom I have accompanied in His business trips to different parts of the country as I seek good exposure into the world of business. It is thus imperative that I acquire a degree in upper division business studies to gain a theoretical foundation and understanding. This will allow me to fully comprehend my business experiences as well as those I am posed to encounter in the future. When I embarked on a search for a business school with the most rewarding learning experience, I was exposed to a wide range of business courses in various universities, which reinforced my interest in this field even further. However, UW Bothell struck me the most because besides the desire to benefit from the high quality coursework offered, I strongly value business mentorship that this institution is reputed for. I intend to get mentorship in a different field other than entrepreneurship that my father has provided. Mentorship in the accountancy field would allow me gain more business insight and become an all rounded business leader. I have developed a special interest in accounting and I intend to further my studies in the same area in my graduate studies.
