My passion and love to apply computational methods to formulate and solve practical problems in business and life led me to choose Mathematics as my major. My childhood dream is to pursue a discipline that would integrate mathematical modelling and computational methods, to formulate and solve practical problems in business, government, engineering and social science. Maths represents a crucial part of the average American's life. In my honest opinion, the discipline explains why and how our world revolves and how we can change it. With the emerging financial crisis of the United States in full swing, the majority are relying more and more on new developments on mathematical models and ideas for a better solution.
I have adequately prepared for my major by taking all prerequisite courses required for a Mathematics major. Moreover, I have further pursued electives units related to Mathematics to broaden my knowledge base. Such electives include economics, physics and statistics.
