I have always loved to make meaningful contributions whenever I get a chance to do so. It is so fulfilling to be involved in activities that benefit other people even if I don’t get benefits myself. When I see the lives of other people touched and transformed, it gives me a sense of purpose and meaning. I remember this particular time when I made a meaningful contribution to others in which the greater good was my main focus. Last year, I visited three juvenile detention centers within a week with my main purpose being to encourage and inspire the detainees.
I love motivating young people to chase their dreams and not to stop for anything. Since my parents knew that I love to speak to young people about life and to motivate them to follow their dreams to the fullest, they allowed me to dedicate a whole week to visit the juvenile centers to give hope to the young detainees. During this time, I was having group sessions and also personal sessions with the detainees whereby I spoke to them about many issues concerning life including career, personal development, mentorship, leadership, and how to turn their lives around. I spent quality time with the detainees because I knew that there was something special in their lives.
