Statement of Purpose
I am applying for a place in the Masters of Public Administration at your University because I am interested in understanding how organizations work closely with the government. My interest in this area of study arouse during my undergraduate studies at New York University, where I pursued a degree in Music Performance. I did final year research on music organizations and their relationship with the government. MPA will be my second graduate degree. The course I look forward to pursuing at your university will broaden my knowledge on how to deal with the government and the public as a whole in the music industry.
After completing my first degree, I worked in a music organization where I played different roles. The roles I was engaged in were not music related but administrative. Out of these activities, I gained more interest in pursuing Public administration. I was to oversee and implement various programs for the organization and also directing the employees on different. The role was challenging though I did more research on public administration, and I gained knowledge to enhance my work. The little experience I learned will be of help in pursuing my master's degree in Public Administration. A break from school also gave me sufficient time to research on the post-graduate program I wanted to pursue.
The reason for applying for this course at your university is due to its international reputation, which attracts several students, and I believe it will offer a stimulating environment to study my masters. Your university also offers an excellent working and recreational amenities for graduate students which reveals your devotion to the graduate student body. My motivation for studying Public Administration is to be able to build my networks nationally and internationally. It will help me learn how different governments in the world and economies react to public issues. It will give a platform to interact with students from all corners of the globe pursuing this course.
Another goal is to develop good leadership and management capabilities. For me to be a successful public servant, I will need to develop both leadership and management skills. Your course...
