Architectural Color Design Impact on People's Shopping Experiences: Admission Essay

Admission Essay Instructions:

This paper is for my application for a Masters Degree in Interior Design. The topic is: Describe how a particular object, a room, a building, or a city can shape the experience of people.
I graduated as a graphic designer and now would like to continue my studies and expand my knowledge.
During my career I have always worked in fashion design. I would like to focus the essay on how a store/retail space can shape the experience of people, top luxury brands around the world really invest in the whole experience a consumer is going to have while shopping at a location. Every single detail like the smell of the place, the packaging, even if they offer you water in a personalized bottle are all things that make a shopping experience feel unique.
I will upload images of a store I designed last year where every room has a different color.. The store is called Maison 11. At Maison 11 we push the boundaries to deliver our customers a completely unique experience. We offer an array of premium products, ranging from our own in-house label to a curated selection of multi-brand apparel and footwear offering the most trendy, upscale and fashion-forward brands around the globe. We curate products across fashion, beauty, wellness, home, and tech.
You can talk about color theory and the experiences people have with color, I will include images of the space that maybe can help you write about it.

Architectural Color Design Impact on People's Shopping Experiences
Any retailer wishing to maximize sales must master the persuasion art. Persuasion is one of the many factors that impact what and how customers buy. Instead of hosting customers and trying to convince them to make purchases, an excellent retail design layout would do that. It would attract customers and probably introduce them to various products they were not aware of or did require. Most customers make up their mind to purchase products when they are already inside the store; therefore, the store design needs to be perfect. Visual elements influence consumer's decisions significantly, and the most persuasive and most potent of them is color, a significant aspect of architectural design. All retailers should use colors to influence customers (Patil 60) psychologically. It communicates the customer's mood, attracts them to the products, and generally makes them experience the retail shop in an exciting manner that stimulates buying. Colors used in a retail store's architectural design can give consumers a memorable and positive experience that benefits them emotionally, thus influencing them to purchase products.
The color could mean everything if the color patterns function correctly across the entire store and accessorize other components such as lighting and displays to a thriving retail shop. Using appropriate colors in designing a store is not making it extremely beautiful but creating a coherent store. Colors can bring coherence in a particular space because, as humans, we tend to react spontaneously to them. Colors trigger human brains; thus, modern retailers should understand the psychological and physiological influences of different colors they intend to use in designing the space (Casas and Chinoperekweyi 441)....
