Personal Statement
The primary motivation for enrolling in Boston University’s Masters program in Project Management is my desire and passion to impact positive change in my home town Conakry, Guinea. I run a local non-governmental organization (NGO) with my sister back in Guinea that seeks to create more opportunities for growth and development across the country. Achieving the desired outcome, across different communities in the country, call for the development of equally diverse initiatives, programs, or projects for effecting the said changes. Effective management of such initiatives further requires acquainting oneself with relevant knowledge and skills in project management. It is for this reason that I seek to pursue the MSC Project Management course at Boston University to acquire the knowledge and skills towards achieving the desired outcomes for my country through successful management of development projects. My academic background as a graduate in business administration provides an excellent platform for advancing my creative and leadership skills in Boston University’s MSC in Project Management.
A Masters in Project Management provides me with the underlying principles and concepts for being successful in setting up and managing development projects for my people in Conakry, Guinea. The Masters in Project Management program allows for the application of knowledge, skills, and expertise to meet the desired objectives or outcomes by all the stakeholders involved in a given development initiative. The graduate program in project management offered at Boston University provides both comprehensive introduction to the course and advanced knowledge of the same. The holistic approach allows students or learners to acquire the primary competencies required to handle the equally diverse demands of project management. Boston University’s graduate project management program is characteristic of different elements such as conception of projects, planning, budgeting for the projects, as well as resource allocation, and implementation of the same. The outlined elements allow learners to develop effective strategies for managing and organizing available resources for the timely completion of projects as per the desires of all the concerned stakeholders. Among such objectives include meeting the set specifications of a given project and within the specified budget.
