Today, the rate of both societal and technological shifts has increased exponentially as compared to the previous decades. As demands from consumers have continuously risen, the rate at which businesses must comply has also been pressured in a way that continuous innovation and. However, despite the increase in profitability and growth, even the landscape of the marketplace has become more competitive than ever. On one hand, companies which are established has monopolized their respective markets, while the on the other, most startups today would need tremendous innovations in order to compete. Due to these factors, one of the common misconceptions that happen is that none can compete with the amount of efficiency and productivity that big companies have. This could then lead to what we call as ‘stagnation’ in terms of technological progress, especially those which are oriented towards lesser profit and more into a social enterprise. Social enterprise is the way in which companies create value for all the stakeholders and not the consumers and investors, by helping them in either direct or ancillary program dedicated to their well-being and development. Nevertheless, I believe that while it is possible for startup companies to pursue their passion and drive for changing the world, they would need a strategic way of thinking in order to do so.
