Media and Communication Personal statement
My career objective is to be a renowned freelance writer in the media industry and I will use the bilingual skills acquired in the sector to advertently surpass the norms. I had excellent grades and am a committed individual who upholds the relevancy of hard work. My interest in languages starts from my primary schooling age where I was awarded several awards in essay-writing competitions. I gathered some of the stories from customers who visited my parent’s cloths store in Macau, China. Sometimes I would not know what was ahead or I was not sure of the experience ahead of me or even the nature of the job. The fact that my parents were also around gave me encouragement to soldier on as they also read my stories and found fun in them. They realized that I could make a good debut in journalism.
The most enjoyable activity that I have advertently relied on is reading and I have found it being ‘part of me’ since my infancy. In an attempt to broaden my cultural and communication perspectives, I decided to major in German language at my junior college studies. In addition to German language studies, I also enrolled for English language studies as my part time course. After this experience, my passion of studying foreign languages developed and in a period of three years, I had enrolled for Spanish and French courses in London.
