Peace Corps service presents major physical, emotional, and intellectual challenges. Please provide a few paragraphs explaining your reasons for wanting to serve as a Peace Corps Volunteer and how you plan to overcome the various challenges associated with Peace Corps service.
 I chose the Peace Corps to help others and gain knowledge and skills on community action ,and  as an agent of change I believe that working closely with the communities will help me learn more.    Even though, I grew up in an unstable environment in a violent and poor neighborhood, I did not let this hold me back. A ‘culture of resignation to fate’ that nothing could change was common in the neighborhood and the vicious cycle of poverty was and is still a reality to many there. Nonetheless, the stagnation of growth common in the low income areas did not hold me back, as I was inspired by mentors to pursue my dreams and do something meaningful in my life. Similarly, joining the Peace Corps will allow me to mentor and influence others in a more impactful way. I want to give hope to others that personal and intellectual growth is possible and beneficial. I have found that it only takes one person to change someone’s life for the better.
