I cannot believe that over all these years we the human race has blatantly refused to subdue the earth, at least in shear obedience to the man who created it. Interestingly we are always obsessed with technology and inventions without due regard to the potential harms they cause to the world and its inhabitants. Can’t we get serious with our lives and that of our posterity for once by preserving the ozone layer? Are we waiting to start melting for us to take this matter seriously? You like it or not, global warming is a problem of our own creation and we all have an obligation find solution to it.
Basically global warming is the increase in the atmospheric temperature which culminates into general increase in the average temperature of the earth. This problem is largely blamed on the increase of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Studies indicate that there is alarming rate of increase in average temperature of the earth and the consequences are better imagined than experienced. A scientific research publication by a Swedish scientist, Svante Arrhenius illustrates the relationship between presence of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the fluctuating temperature in the atmosphere (Booker, 2010). It is among the leading researches that birthed what we today call global warming and greenhouse effect.
It goes without saying that we are either the cause of global warming or the agents of the causes of global warming. The greenhouse gases or the carbon dioxide that destroy the ozone layer and cause the increase in the earth temperature do not manufacture themselves. They are manufactured or produced by me and you.
