Project Proposal: Digital History Exhibit
The project proposal is the first element of the Digital History Exhibit Project that you will submit. The
proposal should provide information about your topic, your focus, your interest in the topic, and your
sources Before you write the proposal, you must conduct preliminary research on your topic. Without
preliminary research, you will not be able to identify a viable topic and begin developing a list of
sources. The proposal will be graded according to the Digital History Exhibit Proposal Rubric.
ELEMENTS
Your proposal should include the following elements:
• A concise discussion of the topic
Begin the proposal by introducing your topic and providing brief background
information about it.
• An explanation of your intended focus
Explain the focus of your exhibit. Be clear and narrow your focus as much as you can.
Identify and describe at least two items that you can include in the exhibit gallery.
• Your rationale for choosing the topic
Explain why the topic and focus interest you and why you want to create an exhibit
about it. What has motivated you to explore the topic?
FORMAT
The Proposal should be formatted as follows:
• Double-spaced
• 12-point Times New Roman Font
• 1-inch margins on all four sides
• 1-2 pages long, not including annotated bibliography
• Annotated bibliography at the end of the proposal with at least three (3) sources
• If you use information in the proposal that should be cited, then you must cite it.

Women in the cold war.
My topic for this research is concerned with a digital project that is involved in creating an online exhibit for artifacts related to the women in the cold war. In the early 1950s, the emergence of the cold war led to a major change in women’s role in the community and American society. The cold war led to the call upon women to help in process of defending America. Researchers have often displayed the 1950s as a period of conformity where everyone observed strict gender roles and met all societal expectations. The cold war was a major period of conformity with traditional feminism roles.
The women in the cold war played a major role in liberating America and thus marked the beginnings of gender equalities for women. The museums are currently in possession of various exhibits from the cold war that displays the participation of women in the cold war. My major interest in the exhibits from the women in the cold war is the deadly lipstick gun (Hirt, p.30). The exhibit is a single-shot firearm that the female species used in the cold war.
