The Depiction of Men's Mental Health in Advertising

Research Proposal Instructions:

Hello there,
Is there at all any chance you could perhaps write what is essentially a research project outline for my upcoming dissertation? I want the research topic to be The Depiction Men's Mental Health in Advertising. There are three categories to this project outline that i need you to write about,
Outline of chosen research topic :
-theoretical motivation for topic
-empirical motivation for topic
-initial ideas on methodology
I've sent the form format for this piece of work, as it paints a clearer picture of what to do and provides more detail on each of the categories to be written about. If you could perhaps format your work in such a way that it can fit neatly within said form that would be amazing, or if you could even fill in the form if that's at all possible (if not, don't worry)
For each of the above categories feel free to put in whatever you feel to be the best option for going about researching this topic (e.g. you may think surveys and questionnaires would be best when on the topic of methodology)
Please tell me if you need any more information to help you out, as I don't want to bombard you with files and files of directions

Identify your:
1 empirical focus: brief outline of topic (population, phenomena of interest)
2 theoretical focus: theoretical framework used for approaching topic
1 what approaches have been used previously?
2 What types of analyses could be used?
→ will you be applying social skills models, assessing attitudes, analysing phonology/syntax/conversation, addressing PR issues, etc
3 type of methodology: quantitative, qualitative, interviews, corpus, etc
Note: The theoretical focus and type of methodology are most relevant to your choice of supervisor.
Empirical Focus: My research proposal is “The Depiction of Men’s Mental Health in Advertising.” I am interested in this topic since many men in the United Kingdom (UK) are afraid to come out when they have mental health issues. They suffer in silence since traditional masculinity ideologies depict that males should be self-reliant, display restrictive emotionality, and be tough (Li, 2022). The target population for this study will be men aged from 18 to 55 years. In particular, males should not be perceived to be always strong in advertisements such that they are stigmatized when it comes to sharing their feelings and emotions. Although society presents men as self-reliant and tough, there is nothing wrong with this demographic to maintain proper mental health. On that note, this research will shed light on how males’ mental health is depicted in advertising and foster public awareness of the importance of seeking counselling when the need arises.
Theoretical focus: The theoretical framework that will be used to approach this topic is behavioural change. Notably, it helps in understanding the attitude toward men’s mental health in advertising, the stigma associated with males’ counselling, and proper interventions. Other theoretical approaches that have been used previously to study this topic include the consolidated framework and the psychoanalytic theory. Approximately 64% (two-thirds) of males in the UK aged between 18 and 34 believe that negative male representation in advertisements leads to psychological da...
