Project proposal + annotated bibliography
Project proposal:
Use your research questions, thesis statement and research methods to develop a 3-4 page project
proposal. This should clearly explain your project’s goals using your research questions and the primary sources you plan to examine your questions/arguments. Your proposal will be graded on the following criteria:
-Does the proposal clearly outline how you intend to pursue your research project throughout the remainder of the  semester?
-Does the proposal explain how you have narrowed down your topic?
-Does the proposal indicate what sources you plan to use, including books and possible interview subjects and  archive visits?
-Finally, does the proposal contextualize this research project within your current design practice? (ie. How does it fit with your studio work? Why are you interested in this topic?)
Annotated bibliography:
This preliminary bibliography must include a minimum of 8 scholarly sources (books, journal articles, etc.) that are relevant and directly related to your topic. Be sure to evaluate the quality of your sources (How old are they? Are they from a peer-reviewed publication? Are they primary or secondary sources?). For each entry on your list, create a 30 to 60-word notation that summarizes the content of the source, and explains its relevance to your research interests.
Within body of text:
-Description of research topic: What do you know about your topic + how did you arrive at it?
-Research question: What aspect of this topic do you want to explore? Why?
-Outline of research project: Describe the research methods you plan to use Observation: Where? When? Why?
Please identify the world under analysis and give descriptions of potential observational sites.
Interviewing: Who? Why? What questions will you ask?
Please identify your interview population and list at least
15 questions that you’d like to ask.
Object analysis: Which objects? Where and when are they from? Why?
Please include images of at least 5
objects that you’d like to analyze.
Image analysis: Which images? Where and when are they from? Why?
Please include at least 20 images that you find relevant to your topic.
Archival research: Which archives do you want to use? To find which objects/images/company practices?
Note: the annotated bibliography is separate from the 2-4 page proposal.

Methods Questionnaires will be provided to the participants to understand their perspectives understanding about the role of politics in fashion and choice of clothes, students will be recruited from around the university after initially receiving mail requesting them to participate. Besides the questionnaires there is focus on political rallies and protests, and this would focus on where there are political undertones.
