Resource 1
The article discusses the French Revolution and the contribution of women to the revolution is by Kindleberger (1994). In locating the article, a literature search was conducted using four databases, JSTOR, Google Scholar, EbcoHost and ProQuest. The four databases were selected since they have indexed a large number of articles on various subjects including history. Set operator "AND" was used during the literature search. The term, ‘women’ was combined with the term French revolution and the term participation or role using the set operator "AND." The selected article is a sound scholarly article as it is peer reviewed. Also, the article derives the information from multiple sources including experts from historians who lived at the time of the French revolution. The article is reliable as a source of secondary information. However, a researcher seeking information on the role of women at the time can combine the article with primary sources to improve the legitimacy and reliability of their work.
Resource Two
The second resource that provides information on a legitimate non-profit organisation that focuses on child labour and modern day slavery is by Destiny RescueCITATION Kir131 \l 1033 (Kirwan, 2013). The resource published by Destiny Rescue, an organisation that specialises in freeing children from sexual exploitation and child trafficking, was searched primarily through Google Search Engine. The search primarily used the phrase ‘non-profit organisation focusing on child labour and modern slavery.’ Google Search was the most viable search route as most specialised databases do not contain general information about organisations. The article provides general information about the organisation and cannot, therefore, be used independently as a scholarly article. A researcher would have to use other resources to collaborate or determine whether the information on the resource is legitimate.
Resources Three
An article by Platt (1993) on Simon Bolivar and the Latin American independence movement was selected to provide more information on the topic. The article was identified by conducting an extensive literature search using five databases includi...
