In health matters, there have been increased concerns on diseases associated with lifestyles. One of such disease is diabetes type 2 which is usually associated with idle kind of life where one does not engage in physical activities. Deliberations on promoting physical activity in people with diabetes type 2 has been chosen due its higher chances of ensuring healthy and improved quality of life in people with this ailment especially those at the age of 20-60. Promotion of physical activity in people of this age group helps to manage excessive weight that is linked to development and worsening of diabetes type 2.
During the early stages of life, there is an almost automatic tuning to physical activities due to play associated with childhood. As such, people at the early stages of life, below twenty, are usually at lower risk of diabetes type 2 and the pangs of excessive weight. Yu & Simmons (2013) assert that; there has been special concern in the people of ages 20-60 when it comes to fight against diabetes type 2 especially through promotion of physical activity. This is because, this age represents the productive persons who able to take the economy of country to higher level.
This topic relates to the healthy people 2020 topic in the sense that; it orients to promotion of health of this age group. When physical activity is promoted among an age group, it goes a long way in ensuring promotion of health. This is because; the impact of such promotion is not only in control of the disease in question; but there is overall improvement of health in whole as well as prevention of many other ailments. Statistics have shown that there is increment in cost of healthcare for people with diabetes type 2.
