A judge of the US state has ruled that the company must pay $572 M, as their liability of fuelling opioid addiction for many citizens of the affected state.(Hotten, 2019) Johnson & Johnson has been one of the top manufacturers of different kinds of drugs that are distributed for the use in different medical conditions, and is now facing more trials and legal settlements that seek to hold the company accountable for a U.S. opioid crisis that has negatively impacted many lives.
