Multiracial: What are you?
In support and collaboration with earlier sessions Amazing Grace. Finding Answers Together and Beyond Brave Spaces, the Center for Cultural Pluralism offers the two-sessions progra When, Where, ond HOW of Race Forums, designed to increase our awareness and understanding of race and how to seek justice through actions.
We would like to invite you to the second session, which is focused on the concept of a multiracial identity. This program consists of a separate pre-recorded video lecture that can be wi prior to the live discussion and questions from the audience.

How has the concept of race continued to change over time? Is multiracial an old or new concept? What are the meanings of the term?
This session creates space to:
• Explore die history of the term multiracial in America
• Examine our own personal development of an understanding of the concept
• Explore changes over time

This event talks about race and identity. I have found many vital points, presented by Professor Nikki Khanna, both fantastic and thought-provoking. Some of the presented facts that I found interesting are that people worldwide have 99.9% similar genetic makeup or DNA, regardless of physical appearance and race. Based on the photos, I also realized that even fraternal twins from the same mother and father could look very different regarding their physical appearance. This everyday occurrence among siblings further questions what the real defining feature of the race is.
A part of this event that challenged my knowledge was about the racial categories. I was so used to seeing the different categories on forms, news, intern...
