Scenario
Choose a skill you would like to teach someone (how to change a tire) and the person you would like to teach it to (ideally the skill is not already in their repertoire). Think of something realistic - you will try this out with a friend or family member! Then, use the Behavior Skills Training model to guide your discussion response.
Discussion
Please complete your assigned readings and respond to the following:
Write instructions for the skill. (Hint: These include your performance expectations!)
In 2-3 sentences describe how you went about modeling this skill.
Observe your friend or family member completing this skill and include your notes in your post.
Write 2-3 sentences of feedback for the learner. (Hint: Feedback should provide behavior-specific praise for the desired behavior and include constructive and specific statements, so the learner knows how to improve.)
Write one goal for the learner.
Describe how you will monitor the learner’s performance over time.
