Chapter fourteen portrays monogamy as a relationship where a person has one partner in his or her lifetime. It is notably the most common form of marriage in the United States of America (USA). On the contrary, cohabitation involves two people's arrangements to live together when they are not married. These individuals can be engaged in a sexually intimate relationship for a long time or even permanently as long as they agree. The primary similarity between cohabitation and monogamy is that both parents and children live in the same household. Both parents raise children. However, the community's perspective on cohabitation is different from the view of monogamy, which is widely accepted. Although children raised in cohabitation families get physical, psychological, emotional, and physiological support, the two partners can part ways anytime since they are unmarried.
