It is a system that is designed to provide children and adolescents with care and support. The article Transitioning Out of Foster Care: The First 12 Months by Sunny Rome and Raskin is about the life experience of 19 youths who left foster care to adapt and cope with life. The research was based on their relationships, housing education, and employment. Both the positive and negative outcomes of foster care are outlined in this article. The study was a collaboration between four agencies that deal with child welfare. This article focuses on the life of these youths for one year after leaving foster care. Certain areas were examined monthly through the use of interview to get the right answers for the study. These areas included housing, relationships with loyal adults, education, and employment. The experience of the participants in these areas was seen to have regular transition and instability with unemployment being the poorest. In the study it was evident that some youths could not access the system for assistance. The teenagers that were lucky enough to make it in one domain were more likely to be successful in the other domains (Raskins, 23). The whole transitional foster care process was not always that smooth, there were some challenges.
